Principal Electrical Engineer, Advanced Development (Medical Devices)

Location: Hybrid in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States

Annual salary: $131,900–$165,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and prototype electronic hardware and systems for advanced development projects and new lifesaving technologies.
• Create analog and digital designs for technology evaluation and enhancements to existing products.
• Translate customer and system requirements into preliminary hardware requirements and designs.
• Transition validated electrical designs and prototypes into product development and commercialization.
• Support hardware/software integration and act as a technical expert during product development.
• Develop electrical verification test plans, document architectures and schematics, and resolve technical risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering or science discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 6 years of analog and digital electronics design and development experience in a research and development environment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and experience designing hardware that meets customer, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of analog and digital design, with an understanding of hardware/software integration in electromechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of MATLAB, simulation and schematic capture tools, and programming languages such as Python or C++.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and technical recommendation skills.
