Sr. Sustaining Engineer (Medium Voltage Fuses)

Location: Piedras Negras ICP, Mexico; full-time onsite at the manufacturing facility

What you will do

• Lead sustaining engineering activities for industrial circuit protection products, including medium voltage fuses.
• Partner with Product Management on cost reduction and VA/VE initiatives across assigned product lines.
• Work with manufacturing, quality, and process engineering on the factory floor to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with customers and OEMs on product designs, specifications, customizations, and complaint prevention.
• Maintain compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and IEEE/ANSI standards and coordinate certification testing with external laboratories.
• Modernize legacy drawings, initiate engineering change orders, support new product validation, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of sustaining, product, or design engineering experience in electrical products or manufacturing.
• Experience with medium voltage products; direct experience with medium voltage fuses is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of UL, IEC, and IEEE/ANSI standards, product certification, VA/VE, cost reduction, and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, FMEA, and DOE.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, preferably Autodesk Inventor, engineering drawings, GD&T, and Microsoft Office.
• Fluent English and availability to work full time onsite at the Piedras Negras manufacturing facility are required.
