Project Engineer - Studies Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: San Luis Potosi, Mexico; domestic and international travel of at least 25% is required.

What you will do

• Apply power system studies concepts, practices, and procedures using PSSE, ETAP, and/or RTDS.
• Train and assist customers with the design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.
• Deliver assigned engineering work within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Participate in preparing functional design specifications.
• Prepare and maintain design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and other project deliverables.
• Apply SEL values, operating principles, and World Class Manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems and industry practices.
• Knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration, automation, and communications applications.
• Working knowledge of power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, with the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment; satisfactory background check and negative drug test required.

Nice to have

• Engineer in Training certificate.
• Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
• Project engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of Vision or another project management tracking system.
