Maintenance Technician (Automation & Robotics)

Location: Shirebrook, England, United Kingdom. Site-based role with a 4-on/4-off shift pattern covering rotating days and nights.

What you will do

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across automated systems, including conveyors, sorters, shuttles, and robotics.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment faults using a structured, high-quality approach.
• Respond to breakdowns in real time and prioritise issues according to operational impact and uptime.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of controls.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS while meeting safety and quality standards.
• Work with the engineering team to solve problems and share technical knowledge.

Requirements

• Recognised engineering qualification, such as an apprenticeship, ONC, or equivalent.
• Experience with automated or production-based systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of control systems, including PLCs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work at pace in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to take ownership, make quick informed decisions, and deliver consistent work in a time-critical setting.
