Senior GMP Maintenance Technician (Biotech)

Location: 100% onsite at the GMP Manufacturing facility in Harwell, Oxford, England, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Own equipment uptime, reliability, safety, and compliance across an assigned GMP and non-GMP manufacturing area.
• Lead structured troubleshooting, root cause analysis, deviations, and CAPAs for complex equipment issues.
• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, shutdown activities, work orders, and CMMS data integrity.
• Author and improve maintenance procedures, plans, job plans, SOPs, and cGMP technical documentation.
• Lead small capital projects and reliability initiatives with Engineering and QA, including URS, vendor selection, and FAT/SAT/IOQ support.
• Provide technical escalation, coaching, contractor supervision, on-the-job training, audit support, and 24/7 shift coverage including occasional nights and callouts.

Requirements

• Level 3 engineering qualification from City and Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in a regulated environment, preferably cGMP.
• Experience troubleshooting automated process equipment and PLC-controlled systems, plus pneumatics and vacuum systems.
• Experience with high-speed packaging machines, robotic controls, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, mixing vessels, and utilities.
• Ability to use structured problem-solving, reliability methods, technical writing, and maintenance strategy improvement to resolve complex issues.
• Familiarity with Maximo or SAP PM, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and present technical work.
