Service Technician

Location: Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom; work involves equipment operations at the home base and project locations, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rota.

What you will do

• Inspect, register, service, maintain, and repair lifting and transport equipment.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Conduct periodic inspections, preventive maintenance, and electrical safety testing.
• Assemble and disassemble transport equipment for project requirements.
• Maintain accurate service and inspection records and technical documentation.
• Support breakdown response, project activities away from the home base, and the 24/7 on-call service.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining, servicing, inspecting, and repairing industrial or specialist equipment in a service environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical equipment.
• Ability to diagnose breakdowns using a structured problem-solving approach.
• Ability to read procedures, specifications, drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong commitment to safe working practices and effective communication across teams.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota, support projects away from the home base, and undertake GWO training.
