Maintenance Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Eastleigh, Hampshire, United Kingdom; the R&D facility is moving from Chandlers Ford to Nursling, Southampton, in mid-September 2026.

What you will do

• Provide reactive breakdown support and recover faults affecting R&D pilot-line process equipment.
• Plan and perform preventative maintenance, safety checks, calibration, and spare-parts management.
• Install, qualify, modify, and continuously improve new and existing equipment.
• Diagnose equipment issues through PLC interrogation and analyse KPIs such as OEE.
• Maintain service records and planned-maintenance procedures in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Support utilities and facilities equipment, cross-functional improvement projects, and team training.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in a similar engineering support role.
• Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering.
• ONC, HNC, or equivalent qualification in mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering.
• Experience supporting processes in a high-speed manufacturing environment, including equipment design and modifications.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic control systems, and PLC diagnosis.
• Familiarity with safe working practices, PPE, workshop machine tools, problem-solving, analysis, prioritisation, and communication.
