Location: United Kingdom; the role requires frequent travel to Coventry and occasional domestic and international travel.

What you will do
- Support the deployment and adoption of advanced manufacturing, robotics, automation, and AI technologies.
- Develop and manage relationships with research organisations, universities, and specialist technology providers.
- Coordinate technology opportunities and projects from discovery through launch, delivery, and benefits tracking.
- Support continuous improvement, site assessments, problem solving, and the sharing of operational excellence standards.
- Review machinery and manufacturing equipment against health and safety requirements, including machine safeguarding and energy isolation.
- Build relationships across divisions, functions, and regions while representing Smiths at technical meetings and external forums.
Requirements
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology environment.
- Understanding of manufacturing technologies, automation, and robotics.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and operational excellence methodologies.
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or technology projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including frequent travel to Coventry.
Nice to have
- Completion of a structured graduate development programme in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology organisation.
- Interest in emerging technologies, advanced manufacturing, testing, simulation, digital technologies, and AI.
