Production Technician (Medical Manufacturing)

Location: Newquay, United Kingdom. Onsite night-shift role working a 4-on-4-off, 12-hour pattern.

What you will do

• Maintain equipment reliability in a high-volume medical manufacturing environment.
• Monitor process and scrap data, reduce scrap, improve yield, and support root-cause investigations.
• Support process startups, changeovers, breakdown response, and permanent corrective solutions.
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance while maintaining GMP/GDP records.
• Improve OEE, efficiency, safety, quality, delivery, and overall production performance.
• Provide clear shift handovers and train colleagues when required.

Requirements

• Practical experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience maintaining high-volume production lines and diagnosing technical faults.
• Familiarity with OEE, TPM, SPC, and technical support or maintenance work.
• Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ 3 in Mechatronics, or an equivalent qualification, is preferred.
• Ability to work unsociable hours, continental shifts, rotating patterns, and additional hours when needed.
• Responsible approach to health and safety and ability to maintain a clean, disciplined work environment.

Nice to have

• PLC programming and vision-systems experience.
• Electrical qualification.
