IT Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: Austin, New York City, or San Francisco, United States; in-office anchor days required on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday

Salary: $180,000–$288,000 annual base pay in San Francisco; compensation outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location.

What you will do

• Configure and improve Okta integrations, including SSO, MFA, groups, access policies, and automated provisioning.
• Build onboarding, role-change, and offboarding workflows that keep employee access accurate.
• Configure and maintain MDM solutions for device enrollment, profiles, software deployment, patching, encryption, and compliance.
• Partner with Security on least-privilege access, endpoint security standards, access reviews, and device-based policies.
• Develop scripts, API integrations, and automation across Okta, MDM, Google Workspace, Slack, AWS, and IT service-management systems.
• Resolve complex identity and device issues, reduce technical debt, and maintain operational documentation.

Requirements

• Hands-on IT systems engineering experience with deep expertise in IAM or MDM and working knowledge of the other area.
• Experience administering Okta and integrating applications using SAML, OIDC, and SCIM.
• Experience operating an MDM platform such as Jamf, Kandji, Intune, or an equivalent.
• Strong understanding of least privilege, authentication, authorization, endpoint hardening, and secure handling of credentials and company data.
• Proficiency with Python or Bash, APIs, workflow automation, troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration.
• Experience using AI to solve technical problems, with the judgment to review generated code and validate changes.

Nice to have

• Experience using Terraform to manage Okta or other IT systems as code, including version control, code review, repeatable deployments, and configuration drift management.
