Working Student (d/f/m) in the area of Mass Properties (Python/AI)

Location: Manching, Germany; the position is part-time at approximately 18 hours per week, with mobile working possible by agreement.

hirify.global develops aerospace and defence solutions, with the Mass Properties department supporting aircraft development and operations.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and improve Python applications and reusable components for aircraft mass data.
• Support relational database structures, queries, and data models using technologies such as SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Automate repetitive engineering workflows and data-processing activities.
• Build tools for importing, validating, transforming, and integrating engineering data.
• Investigate AI and Large Language Model applications by developing prototypes for engineering workflows.
• Create automated and manual tests, document bugs, and improve software reliability and maintainability.

Requirements

• Full-time enrollment in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Good Python programming skills and a strong interest in software development.
• Basic knowledge or strong interest in SQL, relational databases, software architecture, object-oriented programming, data processing, automation, and software testing.
• Ability to translate complex engineering problems into structured software solutions through an analytical and self-organized approach.
• Advanced English required.

Nice to have

• Interest in PyQt, Git, Jira, Confluence, AI, and Large Language Models.
• German language skills.
