Senior R&D Engineer (Biotech)

Location: On-site at Harbourgate, Portsmouth, United Kingdom. Up to 20% overnight travel may be required worldwide.

What you will do

• Develop and manage project plans, including responsibilities, resources, and risks.
• Provide technical leadership across complex R&D and engineering projects.
• Apply 3D CAD design to support hardware and disposable device development.
• Lead product development from specification through design, testing, and validation.
• Coordinate communication and collaboration with product management, R&D, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain teams.
• Transfer completed designs into manufacturing and report project progress to leadership.

Requirements

• BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or an HND, HNC, or relevant apprenticeship.
• Significant direct work experience and considerable experience in an R&D environment.
• Experience leading through project management and/or design roles.
• Good understanding of 3D CAD design.
• Ability to manage daily workload and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

Nice to have

• Additional experience in an R&D environment.
• Engineering or technical leadership experience.
