Mainframe System Programmer - z/OS

What you will do

• Maintain, install, document, customize, and optimize z/OS and IBM or third-party vendor software.
• Diagnose system and performance problems, determine root causes, and implement configuration changes.
• Plan and manage software installation, upgrades, maintenance schedules, and vendor product execution in mainframe environments.
• Collaborate with z/OS administrators, clients, service lines, and project resources to deliver technical changes.
• Analyze the impact of system software changes and maintain system availability and continued operations.
• Provide on-call support and contribute to best practices for z/OS vendor product environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of experience in a mainframe systems programming role.
• Strong experience installing and maintaining z/OS and IBM or third-party software using SMP/E and non-SMP/E methods.
• Proficiency in JCL, REXX, and HLASM.
• Experience with system monitoring, problem determination, multiple client mainframe workloads, z/OS services, JES, sysplex, Unix System Services, VTAM, TCP/IP, system catalogs, and IODF/HCD.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and third-party vendor print package administration.
