Director of Technology (Experiences) (Marketplace Technology and Data): Defining technology strategy, architecture and data capabilities for an experiences marketplace spanning Buyagift, Red Letter Days and partner ecosystems with an accent on platform modernisation, replatforming and scalable data architecture. Focus on assessing partner-side platforms, leading transformation initiatives, building reliable data capabilities and developing multidisciplinary technology leadership.
Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid with two days in the office and regular ongoing office attendance

What you will do
- Define and lead the long-term technology strategy for the Experiences business, aligning investment with commercial goals.
- Review the technology estate and recommend where to modernise, simplify, replace or retain platforms.
- Assess the partner-side platform across architecture, data, migration, investment, organisational capability, risk and business outcomes.
- Lead platform transformation and replatforming initiatives where appropriate.
- Shape capabilities for partner content, catalogue data, merchant onboarding, operational workflows, shopping, voucher fulfilment, redemption and exchanges.
- Lead the Experiences Data Platform and develop engineering and data leadership across two cross-functional squads and the platform team.
Requirements
- Significant senior-level experience leading technology organisations.
- Deep technical credibility across modern software architecture, platforms and engineering.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, modern data platforms and the relationship between application and data architecture.
- Proven experience with platform modernisation, replatforming or large-scale technology transformation in commercial environments.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, partnering with Data Engineering and influencing senior executives.
- Strong communication, commercial judgement and ability to connect technology decisions with customer and business outcomes.

- Experience with marketplaces, ecommerce, partner ecosystems, voucher businesses or complex retail integrations.
