Integration Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 50% of working time in the office; new team members initially work full-time in the office.

What you will do

• Lead an Integration Engineering team and own a strategic engineering capability used across the organisation.
• Drive adoption and evolution of the ETL Streaming platform.
• Establish a new capability for evolving critical business processes.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
• Develop engineers into technical leaders while improving team performance and delivery pace.
• Support technical discussions, architectural decisions, and the adoption of AI-assisted software engineering.

Requirements

• Experience leading software engineering teams and developing high-performing cultures.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Deep software engineering experience, including software and system integration.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, cloud-native architecture, and critical production services.
• Experience owning and evolving engineering platforms used by multiple development teams.
• Ability to balance people leadership with hands-on technical contribution and architectural decision-making.

Nice to have

• AWS serverless technologies and event streaming or messaging technologies.
• Enterprise integration patterns and platform engineering.
• Modernisation programme experience.
• Financial services industry experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot.
