TL;DR
Assistant/Senior Assistant Finance Analyst Corporate and Consumer (Accounting and Financial Controls): Delivering accurate month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and controlled accounting across assigned entities with an accent on balance sheet integrity, audit readiness, and stakeholder support. Focus on reviewing journals, resolving intercompany mismatches, strengthening controls, and improving finance processes through automation, BlackLine, and SAP functionality.
Location: Hybrid role based at the Livingston office, with an expectation of two office days per week. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do
- Prepare and review month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, recharges, and reclassifications.
- Ensure general ledger results are complete, accurate, reconciled, and delivered on time, with analysis of balance sheet and P&L movements.
- Own or review balance sheet reconciliations for cash, intercompany, fixed assets, accruals, and suspense accounts.
- Manage intercompany balances, support fixed asset accounting, and resolve mismatches with counterparties.
- Run financial controls, support audits, statutory accounts, tax queries, and process documentation.
- Act as the escalation point for the offshore RTR team, collaborate with finance functions, coach colleagues, and deliver close-process improvements.
Requirements
- Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA accountant, or qualified by experience.
- Experience with month-end close, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations in a large or complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting and financial controls.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP system; SAP experience is preferred.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Clear communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
