AI Engineer (LLM)

Location: Must be legally eligible to work in France, Belgium or Spain. Remote work flexibility is available, with an emphasis on in-person collaboration.

What you will do

• Design and ship LLM-powered agents that understand member requests, reason over contracts, claims, and history, and take actions on members' behalf.
• Build tools, retrieval systems, and context pipelines that provide agents with accurate information.
• Enable interoperability between AI agents through conversation handoffs, shared context, and capability calls.
• Extend automated resolution to AI phone support with real-time voice conversations.
• Build evaluation datasets, automated evaluations, and quality monitoring for production agents.
• Improve resolution rates, answer quality, and member satisfaction through iterative work on prompts, models, and architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building scalable software systems.
• Strong backend engineering experience; Python is a plus.
• Hands-on experience building LLM products involving agents, tool calling, RAG, prompt engineering, and evaluation, ideally in production.
• Ability to measure AI system quality and improve it systematically.
• Interest in healthcare technology and the role of insurance in access to care.
• Curiosity, high potential, pragmatic decision-making, and willingness to grow.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global's stack: React, Python/Flask, PostgreSQL, and a monorepo.
• Experience with agentic workflows, safety, guardrails, cost and latency optimization, or voice AI.
