Executive Director, Compensation (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, United States of America

Salary: $195,400–$325,600 per year, plus annual target bonus and equity opportunity.

What you will do

• Lead global compensation strategy for base pay, annual bonus, and equity programs.
• Direct compensation program administration, annual planning, promotions, job evaluation, and employee communications.
• Advise leadership, managers, HR partners, recruiters, and executives on compensation decisions and practices.
• Manage, mentor, and develop the compensation team and oversee external vendors and consultants.
• Analyze market data, develop cost models, and present actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Support the Compensation Committee and executive compensation disclosures while coordinating with Legal, Compliance, Tax, Payroll, and Accounting.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive compensation experience in a global organization.
• Executive compensation experience at a U.S. public company and 5+ years managing a compensation function or team.
• Advanced proficiency with compensation analytics using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Payfactors, Workday, and Peoplefluent.
• Strong communication, influencing, leadership advisory, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or technology.
• Experience with M&A compensation due diligence and integration.
• Experience interfacing with members of the Board of Directors.
