Director of Deployment (AI)

Location: London, with at least 2 days a week in the office and approximately 25% travel to customer plants worldwide.

Salary: £120K–£160K per year.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the Solutions team responsible for deploying AI products in industrial customer plants.
• Own the deployment portfolio, acting as the senior escalation point for customer and delivery issues.
• Scale operations from 9 to 50 live plants by the end of 2027 and reduce the deployment cycle to 8 weeks.
• Partner with Product, Machine Learning, Engineering, and Sales to turn bespoke deployment work into repeatable product capabilities.
• Define evaluation success criteria, monitor deployment health, identify root causes, and improve delivery reliability.
• Establish post-sales operating models covering support, model upkeep, retraining, expansions, and upsells.

Requirements

• Experience deploying early AI products into business customers alongside engineers.
• Experience converting customer-specific work into repeatable product features and measurable deployment improvements.
• Experience building and managing delivery teams, including hiring, performance management, and managing managers or team leads.
• Experience working in a forward-deployed or deployment strategist model with teams embedded at customer sites.
• Experience deploying software into physical operations such as plants, factories, utilities, or energy assets.
• Willingness to work from the London office at least 2 days per week and travel to plants worldwide, approximately 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience setting up post-sales or account management for a B2B product.
• Experience in decarbonising energy-intensive industries.
