Senior Check Point Firewall Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Washington, DC, United States, with remote work available and occasional on-site datacenter support

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, plan, and implement new firewall architectures, upgrades, and features with customer staff.
• Administer Check Point firewalls, including updates, upgrades, policy administration, and validation.
• Review and implement customer changes in accordance with existing security policies.
• Manage and tune firewall software blades, including IPS, URL Filtering, Application Control, antivirus, and advanced malware detection.
• Update technical documentation and support outage resolution, planned maintenance, and upgrades outside normal business hours when required.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience configuring and administering Check Point firewalls.
• In-depth knowledge of security operations, firewall rules, and security policies.
• Strong networking skills and knowledge of firewall platforms.
• Ability to rapidly identify and isolate issues during incidents and outages.
• Availability for occasional on-site datacenter support in the Washington, DC area.

Nice to have

• Check Point certification, such as CCSE or CCSA.
• Local presence in the Washington, DC area.
