Senior Software Engineer - Security Platform

Location: Hybrid in the United States or Canada. Available U.S. locations include Atlanta, Austin, Denver, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Offer-stage candidates may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

Estimated annual salary: $150,000–$266,000 USD, depending on work location. Eligible for equity participation.

What you will do

• Build and operate secure, resilient distributed systems for secrets and key management.
• Strengthen and re-architect internal PKI and machine/workload identity systems.
• Run and support infrastructure services and help internal developers use them correctly.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency incident response.
• Consult on the design and architecture of new systems and products to ensure secure implementation.

Requirements

• Expertise in software development and distributed systems design.
• Proficiency in Linux/UNIX system administration.
• Strong security background focused on implementation rather than policy or compliance.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from the United States or Canada.
• Any offer may require authorization to receive technology controlled under U.S. export laws without sponsorship for an export license.

Nice to have

• Contributions to open-source security or distributed systems projects.
• Cryptography experience and knowledge of cryptosystems at the primitives level.
• Experience with HSMs, TPMs, or platform TEEs such as AMD SEV, Intel SGX, or Apple Secure Enclave.
• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, OpenBao, or similar tools.
• Experience with Go and/or Python, plus Salt.
