Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Springfield, VA, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Maintain, configure, install, and administer hardware and software across on-premises, cloud, and wireless Focused Operations environments.
• Implement automation and orchestration capabilities and design integrated IT and security solutions.
• Administer forensic applications, endpoint systems, servers, firewalls, routers, VPNs, IDS sensors, proxies, wireless systems, PKI, and switches.
• Monitor system health, logs, backups, antivirus definitions, patches, and security issues across FO FISMA systems.
• Plan, test, document, and implement approved system changes through RFC and Change Control Board processes.
• Produce technical documentation, vulnerability and security status reports, network health reports, and recommendations for security improvements.

Requirements

• Secret security clearance required.
• Experience with cybersecurity engineering, system administration, network security, and integrated IT solutions.
• Experience administering Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX/Linux systems, servers, endpoints, and mobile devices.
• Knowledge of firewalls, routers, VPNs, IDS sensors, proxies, wireless technologies, PKI, Active Directory, and security monitoring tools.
• Ability to conduct system-level testing, security testing, vulnerability remediation, and change control activities.
• Ability to travel to locations where enterprise analysis devices are deployed for administration or repair when needed.
