Senior Security and Compliance Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide security and compliance subject matter expertise to technical teams, program leadership, external partners, and government stakeholders.
• Apply NIST RMF, FISMA, and NIST SP 800-53 requirements to federal technology programs.
• Evaluate system changes, technical decisions, and development activities for security, privacy, and regulatory impact.
• Support ATO preparation, maintenance, continuous monitoring, and secure software delivery.
• Maintain POA&Ms, system artifacts, formal security documentation, compliance reports, and GRC records.
• Identify security risks, recommend mitigation strategies, mentor colleagues, and participate in recruiting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or a related field, plus 7+ years of relevant experience; additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least 4 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience and 2 years working with security and compliance frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, FISMA, and NIST SP 800-53 security controls.
• CompTIA Security+ certification and either CISSP or CISM certification.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States.

Nice to have

• Certificate of Competence in Zero Trust (CCZT).
• CompTIA SecurityX certification.
• Experience with ServiceNow Continuous Authorization and Monitoring (SNOWCAM).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
