Student Conduct Specialist or Assistant Director of Student Conduct

What you will do

• Receive complaints, investigate alleged violations, and manage student conduct cases from intake through completion.
• Serve as an administrative hearing officer, determine responsibility, issue sanctions, and use restorative justice to resolve student conflicts.
• Maintain accurate case records and correspondence in the Maxient student conduct database.
• Develop and lead prevention initiatives related to university policies, procedures, alcohol and drug education, hazing prevention, and campus events.
• Design, coordinate, and evaluate training for hearing and appeal board members, investigators, and student or paraprofessional staff.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority and report required non-personally identifying information under the Jeanne Clery Act.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For the Assistant Director track: at least three years of related higher education experience in conduct hearings, educational programs, training, student organization advising, or student leadership programs.
• For the Student Conduct Specialist track: at least one year of related higher education experience in conduct hearings, educational programs, training, student organization advising, or student leadership programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, confidentiality, multitasking, and collaboration skills.
• Employment is subject to a criminal history investigation and credential verification.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Maxient conduct platform.
• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, student administration, higher education administration, educational leadership, or a related field.
