Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Location: Onsite in Quantico, Virginia, United States

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Build highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable environments aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework practices.
• Manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.
• Implement networking, security, encryption, logging, monitoring, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Support Dev, Test, and Prod environments while maintaining configuration consistency and compliance.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and system issues and collaborate with DevOps, security, engineering, and data teams.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Top-Secret Clearance are required.
• 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of AWS core services, networking, security controls, IAM, KMS, encryption, logging, and compliance.
• 5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
• Experience with Bash or Python automation and large, complex cloud systems and data sets.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAFe, Kanban, ITIL, or NIST configuration management practices.
• Experience creating Jira workflows, dashboards, and reporting metrics.
• Federal Government or Department of Justice cybersecurity experience.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency and interest in adopting new technologies.
