Traffic Project Manager (Transportation Engineering)

Location: Hybrid position based in Tallahassee, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, or Panama City, Florida, United States

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead traffic engineering projects from pursuit through final design and construction support for FDOT and local agency clients.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, resources, quality, and client delivery expectations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to engineers and design technicians.
• Develop engineering designs and oversee preliminary and final plan sets using MicroStation and related design tools.
• Coordinate with roadway, drainage, structures, planning, and environmental teams on integrated transportation projects.
• Build client relationships, support proposals and contract negotiations, and contribute to business development and revenue growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida is required.
• At least 8 years of traffic engineering and transportation design experience.
• Experience managing FDOT and local agency transportation projects, including schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with client relationships, business development, proposal pursuits, and successful project delivery.
• Experience with MicroStation and strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of FDOT criteria, standards, and project delivery processes.
• Established relationships with Florida transportation agencies and experience with capture strategies.
• Previous supervisory experience or participation in ITE, ASCE, or FES.
