IT Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, with regular onsite presence at the new San Francisco office. The role includes occasional travel to company events and other hirify.global locations.

Base salary: $134,400–$176,400, $151,200–$198,450, or $168,000–$220,500 annually, depending on geographic market and job tier. Equity is also offered.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, reliability, automation, and roadmap for identity, access, device management, endpoint security, and IT platforms.
• Build onboarding, offboarding, access lifecycle, device enrollment, posture enforcement, and employee self-service automation using APIs, SaaS integrations, AI agents, and LLM-based tools.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from architecture and design documentation through rollout, communication, and adoption.
• Establish technical standards, evaluate vendors and build-versus-buy options, and maintain security and compliance controls.
• Manage San Francisco office technology, including networking, Wi-Fi, A/V, equipment, Zoom Rooms, and video conferencing systems.
• Provide executive support, resolve complex technical incidents, mentor IT Support Specialists, and coordinate with ISPs and vendors.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IT, systems engineering, or a similar role, with experience owning platforms.
• Deep expertise in identity and access management, device management, or endpoint security and zero-trust tooling.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, TypeScript, Bash, or PowerShell, plus API and SaaS integration experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and communicating technical trade-offs to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking, Wi-Fi, firewalls, ISP circuits, conference-room systems, and video conferencing.
• Ability to provide polished, discreet, and calm support to senior executives.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity governance, access lifecycle automation, zero-trust networking, endpoint detection and response, or Terraform.
• Experience building AI-powered IT workflows, MCP servers, or LLM-driven ticket triage and onboarding automation.
• Experience supporting security and compliance programs, opening a new office, or working at a fast-growing remote-first company.
