Senior Project Manager – Roadway or Bridge

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work schedule with in-office collaboration and flexible remote work

Salary: $150,000–$230,000 per year

Engineering and consulting services focused on transportation infrastructure, including roadway, bridge, planning, design, construction management, and inspection.

What you will do

• Lead complex roadway and bridge projects for IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, and local agencies.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, quality, risk, and delivery.
• Provide technical leadership in roadway and bridge design, modeling, and plan production.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across offices and coordinate with subconsultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Review plans, reports, and proposals; lead QA/QC and resolve technical and delivery challenges.
• Build client relationships, support proposals and business development, and mentor staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Illinois or ability to obtain it within four months of hire.
• 15+ years of transportation engineering experience managing complex Phase I and/or Phase II roadway or bridge projects.
• Strong project management, leadership, communication, client relationship, and multidisciplinary team coordination skills.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and ProjectWise.
• Occasional travel is required to support project and client needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, and Illinois Local Agency projects.
• Experience with projects valued at $15 million or greater.
• PMP, PTOE, SE, or another relevant professional certification.
