Senior Elastic Engineer (Elastic Stack)

Location: Remote from Virginia, United States. The role may require domestic or international on-site engagements. U.S. Passport and an active Secret Clearance at minimum are required.

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize Elastic Stack environments using Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, and Fleet.
• Build ingestion pipelines, index strategies, search queries, dashboards, monitoring, and automation workflows.
• Write Python, PowerShell, Bash, and other scripts for operations, data processing, integrations, and monitoring.
• Deploy Elastic across on-premises, public cloud, GovCloud, Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift environments.
• Integrate Elastic with SIEMs, Splunk, CrowdStrike, and other enterprise telemetry sources.
• Lead design reviews, troubleshoot performance and reliability issues, mentor teams, and maintain architecture and operational documentation.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise with Elastic Stack and production-scale deployments.
• Strong scripting, automation, Linux/Unix, networking, cloud, observability, logging, metrics, and distributed-systems knowledge.
• Ability to mentor engineering teams and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Must be based remotely in Virginia, United States, hold a U.S. Passport, and have a Secret Clearance at minimum.
• Willingness and ability to support domestic or international on-site engagements.

Nice to have

• Experience with SIEM, Elastic Security, EDR, endpoint telemetry, Splunk, OpenSearch, Solr, Lucene, Graylog, or Datadog.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native services.
• Elastic, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or Red Hat certifications.
• Background in DevOps, site reliability engineering, cloud platforms, dashboards, observability frameworks, or large-scale workflows.
