TL;DR
Senior QA Engineer (Playwright/Energy): Designing, building, and maintaining automated UI and API test frameworks for cloud-based power systems software with an accent on Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, and CI/CD integration. Location: Remote within the United States; based in Austin, Texas, with occasional travel of 10% or less

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated UI and API test suites using Playwright with TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
- Build modular, reusable automation frameworks and integrate automated testing into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, cross-browser, and manual testing.
- Define test plans with developers and product owners, track defects, verify fixes, and maintain test coverage.
- Analyze test results, improve QA processes, and contribute to the overall QA strategy.
- Mentor QA team members on Playwright and automation techniques.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in QA automation engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience writing automated tests with Playwright.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript for Playwright.
- Experience with CI/CD integration, REST API testing, and tools such as Postman or Playwright API.
- Knowledge of modern QA methodologies, test design, test management tools, and Git.
- Strong debugging, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills in an agile environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Azure, microservices, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Familiarity with the energy industry and power systems software.
