Sr. DevOps Engineer (Platform Engineering)

Location: Home-based remote role in the United States; listed location is Oak Brook, Illinois. Remote status and role location may change, and relocation is not provided.

Salary: $100,200–$137,000 per year, with potential incentive and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Develop infrastructure as code and cloud-native platform capabilities.
• Standardize delivery patterns, reusable templates, and engineering practices across teams.
• Modernize build, test, deployment, and release processes throughout the SDLC.
• Integrate security, compliance, observability, governance, and engineering metrics into delivery pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and influence platform, architecture, and delivery standards across multiple teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, cloud-native technologies, infrastructure as code, automation, and CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment practices.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Platform, Security, and Architecture teams and driving technical initiatives across multiple teams.

Nice to have

• Experience leading DevOps transformation or platform engineering initiatives.
• Experience building golden pipelines, paved-road solutions, and self-service developer platforms.
• Experience with GitOps, observability, developer productivity initiatives, and enterprise engineering standards.
• Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS, or related certifications.
