Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid/on-site in Arlington, Virginia, requiring at least 3–4 days in the office. Travel of up to 10% may be required. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Salary: $135,000–$273,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code for automated deployment and configuration of multi-site, microservice-based applications.
• Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters in unclassified and classified, air-gapped environments.
• Debug deployment and configuration issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
• Design software interfaces across network protocols and messaging frameworks and integrate components into complex environments.
• Apply cloud operations platforms, automation, and AI coding assistants to improve deployment and maintenance efficiency.
• Participate in requirements definition, design and code reviews, testing, integration, documentation, and risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software development or deployment experience in technically rigorous environments.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm or ArgoCD, virtualization technologies, and networking in virtualized environments.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Salt, along with strong Linux and Bash/Shell skills.
• Basic full-stack development skills with SQL, Python or Java, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and work on-site in Arlington, Virginia at least 3–4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with RKE2, Rook/Ceph, NFS, Kubernetes cluster networking and storage, Git, Jenkins, or Artifactory.
• DevSecOps experience and experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience managing personnel while maintaining cost and schedule targets.
• Master’s degree in engineering or another technical field.
