Red Hat OpenShift Cloud Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid/onsite in Fairfax, Virginia, and/or Springfield, Virginia; onsite support may be required up to 4 days per week. Work within a SCIF and other Government locations is required as mission needs dictate.

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, operate, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes environments across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and classified infrastructure.
• Administer clusters, workloads, networking, storage, security, monitoring, logging, backup and recovery, and performance operations.
• Onboard and migrate customer and partner applications into OpenShift in collaboration with development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform teams.
• Support CI/CD, GitOps, DevOps, automation, and infrastructure as code using GitLab or comparable tools, Ansible, Terraform, Helm, and scripting.
• Implement security compliance activities including STIGs, vulnerability remediation, POA&M remediation, access controls, logging, and ATO sustainment.
• Participate in incident response, maintenance windows, change and release activities, documentation, knowledge sharing, and escalation of complex platform issues.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required by contract.
• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field or equivalent directly relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility and willingness to obtain SCI access and a CI polygraph.
• At least 3 years of IT infrastructure, systems administration, DevOps, container platform, or cloud engineering experience, including 2 years of hands-on Kubernetes and/or OpenShift experience.
• Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes administration, Linux/RHEL, containerized workloads, networking, storage, security, monitoring, Git workflows, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to support SCIF and Government-site operations and meet applicable DoD cybersecurity workforce qualification requirements, such as DoD 8570-01M IAM Level 1 or better.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current CI polygraph and Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator certification.
• Experience with OpenShift across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, multi-cloud, air-gapped, or classified DoD environments.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Argo CD, OpenShift GitOps, GitLab CI/CD, container registries, and automated security scanning.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Python, Bash, PowerShell, OpenShift networking and storage, Operators, monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Exposure to OpenShift AI, AI/ML platforms, GPU-enabled workloads, RMF, STIGs, POA&Ms, ATO sustainment, and workload migration.
