Director of Software Development (AI)

hirify.global develops AI-enabled legal automation platforms supporting end-to-end legal operations workflows, including third-party subpoena response and data subject access requests.

What you will do

• Lead architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on development for AI-enabled legal automation platforms.
• Set the technical roadmap and engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, and documentation.
• Translate business and legal-operations requirements into technical designs, epics, sprint plans, and delivery milestones.
• Own production reliability, performance, security, multi-tenant data isolation, and role-based access controls.
• Manage, hire, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed team of software developers, engineers, and QA staff.
• Partner with product management, legal operations experts, client-facing teams, vendors, and executive leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience and 4+ years in a hands-on engineering leadership role.
• Experience building and leading distributed teams combining inshore or onshore and offshore or nearshore developers.
• Strong hands-on technical ability with modern architecture, RESTful APIs, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure, and secure multi-tenant systems.
• Experience delivering complex web-based enterprise software from architecture through production.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum practices, sprint planning, backlog management, release management, and executive-level technical communication.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in legal technology, legal operations, eDiscovery, or regulated enterprise software.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML, intelligent document classification, workflow automation, or LLM-based features.
• Experience with configurable workflow engines, SSO and identity integration, audit logging, enterprise security, Jira, and CI/CD toolchains.
• Advanced degree or certifications such as AWS, PMP, Scrum, or SAFe.
