Principal Engineer, Software Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Own complex engineering initiatives from user and business needs through architecture, delivery, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Design and build secure, scalable applications, services, APIs, Model Context Protocol servers, data pipelines, and platform integrations.
• Use AI tools and coding agents across research, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and operational analysis while reviewing and hardening all shipped work.
• Lead architecture and code reviews, establish engineering standards, and improve quality, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Partner with product, design, data, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous needs into executable plans.
• Mentor engineers, shape the roadmap, and reduce technical risk related to integrations, data quality, security, observability, and technical debt.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and operating software systems; 10+ years preferred, with significant end-to-end leadership experience.
• Principal-level engineering judgment, strong architectural skills, and the ability to explain tradeoffs and make production-ready decisions.
• Fluency with AI development tools or coding agents, combined with disciplined inspection, testing, security review, and operational ownership.
• Strong experience with Next.js, JavaScript or TypeScript, Golang, data engineering, dbt, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, schema design, query performance, migrations, data quality, and data integrity.
• Knowledge of secure development, automated testing, continuous integration, deployment automation, observability, and containerization.
• Clear technical communication, mentoring ability, and credibility when influencing engineers and stakeholders.
