Physicist (X-Ray Analytical Instrumentation)

Location: Penang, Malaysia. The role includes a 1–2-month training session at a hirify.global headquarters in Europe and occasional travel to Europe for R&D projects.

What you will do

• Integrate and qualify systems, tools, and components for X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry and X-Ray Diffraction instruments.
• Develop and optimize products, components, instrument workflows, and analytical equipment.
• Support product ramp-up to serial production and approve quality standards for assembled products.
• Review standard operating procedures and improve assembly and testing processes.
• Maintain the existing product portfolio in cooperation with operations, purchasing, and vendors.
• Manage the radiation laboratory in compliance with regulatory requirements and cooperate with mechanics, electronics, software, other hirify.global sites, and vendors.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Physics or another physical science subject.
• At least 3 years of industrial R&D experience.
• Experience with X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, analytical instrumentation, or other X-ray analytical techniques.
• Hands-on experience with data collection and evaluation.
• Very good communication skills in English for internal and global teleconferences.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; basic programming and electronics design knowledge is appreciated.
