TL;DR

Senior Engineering Assistant (Test Product Engineering Lab) (Semiconductor Testing/ATE): Leading hands-on testing, retesting, characterization, and qualification of semiconductor devices, including automotive products, in a Seremban validation laboratory with an accent on ATE platforms, electrical measurements, hardware troubleshooting, and traceable documentation. Focus on analyzing test data across temperature ranges, separating tester issues from device issues, supporting lab operations, and coordinating corrective actions with engineers.

Location: Seremban, Malaysia; onsite laboratory role with shift work

What you will do

Lead testing, retesting, correlation, characterization, and qualification runs on ATE platforms including ETS88, J800, Magnum, and uParset across -40°C, 25°C, and 125°C.
Set up and operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, environmental chambers, and automated testers.
Perform first-level debugging of sockets, load boards, handlers, contact issues, test hardware, and test programs, escalating findings clearly.
Analyze test data through outlier screening, temperature-coefficient checks, trend analysis, and comparison with time-zero data.
Coordinate lab workload, sample logistics, EAR tasks, lab logs, test reports, equipment records, and Exensio data.
Support calibration, preventive maintenance, audit readiness, procedure improvements, ESD compliance, and Customer Return Unit testing.

Requirements

Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in ATE testing, reliability, or product engineering support in a semiconductor environment.
Strong knowledge of IC testing, electrical measurements, reliability concepts, ATE platforms, and test programs.
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting skills and the ability to distinguish test-related issues from genuine device issues.
Strong attention to detail, traceability, record-keeping, communication, teamwork, and task prioritization.
Ability to work independently in shifts and provide remote assistance to counterparts when required.
