Sr. Appian Software Engineer (Remote)

Location: Home-based remote role associated with Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; relocation is not provided. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $100,200–$137,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction and delivery of Appian applications supporting Retirement & Wealth business processes.
• Design, build, and maintain process models, SAIL interfaces, records, data fabric, integrations, decision rules, and expression rules.
• Define Appian development standards, design patterns, governance, and technical documentation.
• Design integrations with Salesforce, SQL Server, REST/SOAP APIs, message queues, and other enterprise systems.
• Lead design and code reviews, performance tuning, troubleshooting, incident response, and Appian upgrade planning.
• Mentor Appian developers and collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and senior leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on Appian development.
• 2+ years in a technical lead or architect capacity with responsibility for team output and design decisions.
• Deep experience with Appian process models, SAIL, records/data fabric, integrations, rules, plug-ins, environment management, and deployments.
• Experience with enterprise-scale low-code applications in regulated or financial services environments.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, databases, SQL Server or similar relational databases, data modeling, CI/CD, and application security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; strong communication and Agile/Scrum experience.

Nice to have

• Appian Certified Lead Developer or architect-level certification.
• Appian Certified Senior Developer certification.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud.
