Support Engineer (Payments)

What you will do

• Research and resolve support requests from customer service, merchant operations, and internal teams.
• Trace payment transactions across authorization, capture, void, refund, settlement, and reconciliation flows.
• Investigate errors across web, API, data, connectivity, and payment-terminal layers using logs, monitoring, and API testing tools.
• Configure merchants, clients, accounts, terminals, and integrations, and produce validated reports and data extracts.
• Reproduce defects, document evidence, escalate issues to engineering, and follow fixes through resolution.
• Maintain scripts, queries, runbooks, knowledge-base articles, and troubleshooting guides while supporting triage and release readiness.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in technical support, application support, support engineering, or a similar role.
• Experience investigating technical issues, analyzing logs and application data, identifying root causes, and documenting findings.
• Experience querying and analyzing SQL, NoSQL, or cloud-storage data, including Azure Table Storage or similar systems.
• Experience with REST APIs and API testing tools such as Postman.
• Strong understanding of payment flows, including authorization, settlement, chargebacks, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Ability to handle sensitive cardholder and merchant data securely in accordance with PCI DSS requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, or financial services.
• Familiarity with Azure Table Storage, Blob Storage, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
• Experience with .NET applications, reading C# code, Vue.js, payment gateways, EMV, or POS terminals.
