Staff Engineer, Director (AI-Assisted Software Delivery)

What you will do

• Own the target architecture and incremental modernization strategy for a twenty-year-old .NET revenue and debt-recovery application.
• Define the specifications, build sequence, acceptance model, and quality gates used by the external delivery partner.
• Direct agentic software delivery, review generated code, and manage specification drift, divergence, regeneration, and correctness risks.
• Lead the partner relationship across delivery cadence, scope, estimates, escalation, commercial discussions, and technical quality.
• Ensure hirify.global can build, deploy, operate, modify, and extend the delivered system without the partner or its platform.
• Translate build status, risks, evidence, and required decisions for executives, customers, procurement, and the delivery partner.

Requirements

• 12+ years building and operating production software, including substantial staff or principal-level experience.
• Production-scale experience with agentic or AI-assisted software delivery, including knowledge of its failure modes.
• Architecture ownership for large, multi-team systems and experience with incremental legacy modernization, strangler patterns, live data migration, and no-loss cutovers.
• Experience directing external delivery partners, consultancies, or systems integrators without direct reporting authority.
• Deep relational database experience and the ability to critically review .NET and modern web-stack code.
• Exceptional written communication and proven effectiveness in a remote, distributed organization.

Nice to have

• Government technology, regtech, fintech, payments, or another regulated and highly audited domain.
• Experience with financial calculations, payment allocation, interest accrual, or reconciliation systems.
• Accessibility engineering against WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Experience with StateRAMP/GovRAMP, FedRAMP, SOC 2, PCI DSS, or IRS Publication 1075.
• Experience taking over and operating a system built by another organization.
