Lead Software Architect (AI)

Location: Southampton, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely each week

What you will do

• Own the architecture, design, AI-led implementation, and validation of a cloud-based digital evidence platform.
• Lead technical decisions for multi-threaded, multi-server, and multi-tenant environments.
• Ensure security, scalability, compatibility, maintainability, and responsible AI usage across build-time and run-time systems.
• Test implementations, fix defects, and help resolve customer support cases.
• Maintain architectural standards and mentor team members in architecture practices and AI-led delivery.
• Collaborate with Product Management during planning and delivery.

Requirements

• Solid experience developing applications in C# using Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient systems from complex market requirements, including multi-tenant cloud solutions.
• Strong knowledge of network security, authentication, authorization, SOLID principles, RESTful APIs, databases, and Entity Framework or similar technologies.
• Experience with maintainable code, source control, unit testing, code reviews, and other quality practices.
• Recent daily practical experience with AI tooling such as Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent, with accountability for validating the output.
• Ability to make clear decisions about responsible AI use in a high-trust public-safety platform and to learn new AI tools quickly.

• Azure SQL Server, DevOps, pipelines, TeamCity, GitHub, or Windows services.
• Experience using AI tooling for architecture design reviews, ADR drafting, threat modeling, or contract design.
• Familiarity with AI-native patterns such as agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses, and prompt-and-response evaluation.
