Senior Software Architect (AI)

Location: Southampton, United Kingdom; hybrid work with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote each week

What you will do

• Own the architecture, design, AI-led implementation, and validation of cloud-based, multi-threaded, multi-server applications.
• Lead collaborative technical decisions on architectural direction and ensure adherence to architecture standards.
• Design for security, scalability, compatibility, maintainability, and responsible AI use in build-time and run-time environments.
• Test implementations, fix defects, and help resolve customer support cases.
• Mentor and coach team members in architecture practices, AI-led delivery, and validation of AI outputs.
• Collaborate with Product Management during planning sessions.

Requirements

• Solid experience developing applications in C# with Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient systems from complex market requirements, including multi-tenant cloud solutions.
• Practical daily experience with AI tooling such as Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent, with clear judgment about responsible use in high-trust public-safety systems.
• Experience with maintainable code, source control, unit testing, code reviews, RESTful APIs, databases using Entity Framework or similar, and SOLID principles.
• Knowledge of network security, authentication, authorization, and collaborative multidisciplinary development.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, learning velocity, and accountability for architectural outputs.

• Experience using AI tooling for architecture activities such as design reviews, ADR drafting, threat modeling, or contract design.
• Familiarity with AI-native patterns including agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses, prompt-and-response evaluation, and evidence packets.
