Sr. Elastic Engineer (Elastic Stack)

Location: Remote from Virginia, United States; domestic or international on-site engagements may be required.

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize Elastic Stack environments using Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, and Fleet.
• Build ingestion pipelines, index strategies, search queries, dashboards, automation workflows, and monitoring solutions.
• Develop scripts and integrations with Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling.
• Deploy Elastic across on-premises, AWS, Azure, GCP, GovCloud, Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift environments.
• Integrate Elastic with SIEM, endpoint telemetry, cloud-native, and enterprise tools including Splunk and CrowdStrike.
• Lead design reviews, troubleshoot performance and reliability issues, mentor teams, and maintain architecture and operational documentation.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise with Elastic Stack and production-scale Elastic environments.
• Strong scripting, automation, Linux/Unix, networking, cloud platform, observability, logging, metrics, and distributed-systems knowledge.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide engineering teams.
• U.S. Passport required.
• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Willingness and ability to support domestic or international on-site engagements.

Nice to have

• Experience with SIEM, Elastic Security, EDR, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with dashboards, observability frameworks, large-scale workflows, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or cloud platform roles.
• Elastic, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or Red Hat certifications.
• Experience with Splunk, OpenSearch, Solr, Lucene, Graylog, Datadog, or Elastic Cloud alternatives.
