Staff Architect / Senior Staff Architect (AI)

Location: Lewisville, Texas, United States

Annual compensation: USD $140,000–$200,000, including base salary and, where applicable, variable or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Define large-scale architectural decisions across multiple technology domains, evaluating quality, scalability, trade-offs, and long-term sustainability.
• Lead complex architecture discussions, align technical approaches, and build consensus with architects, engineers, product leaders, and business stakeholders.
• Define patterns and standards for applying AI across the architecture and engineering lifecycle, including responsible, secure, and sustainable usage.
• Design solutions for complex and systemic architectural challenges and establish durable enterprise-wide practices.
• Create architecture guides, improve documentation, and lead knowledge sharing across engineering communities.
• Prioritize architectural initiatives and align enterprise architecture with product roadmaps, business objectives, and multi-year strategy.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and/or architecture; Senior Staff Architect candidates should have 12+ years.
• Expert knowledge of software architecture, modern cloud technologies, distributed systems, and software security.
• Extensive experience with software development lifecycle practices, CI/CD, automation, scalability, and resilience.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex architectural problems, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and build consensus across domains.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot, together with sound judgment on their responsible use.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply.

Nice to have

• Enterprise architecture experience, including integration patterns and cloud platforms.
• Experience influencing platform-level AI investment decisions and establishing ethical, secure, and sustainable AI practices.
• Knowledge of Agile frameworks and issue-tracking or documentation platforms.
