Senior Systems Architect (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote from within close proximity to the National Capital Region in Virginia, United States

Salary: $175,000–$195,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and govern operational, technical, informational, cloud, application, data, and security architectures for a large-scale federal cybersecurity program.
• Translate customer and mission requirements into architectural proposals, technical requirements, standards, and implementation plans.
• Lead cloud architecture and modernization efforts, including scalable infrastructure, AWS cloud-native services, and secure CI/CD DevSecOps environments.
• Design and validate Zero Trust architectures aligned with NIST SP 800-207 and federal security requirements.
• Develop Engineering Design Documents, architecture blueprints, and security control mappings.
• Integrate SIEM, SOAR, CDM, TDSP, EDR, identity platforms, AWS services, and containerized environments across cybersecurity tools.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and residence within close proximity to the National Capital Region are required.
• Active Public Trust 6c clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 12+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity information technology and at least 3 years supporting cloud-based solutions.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification is mandatory.
• Experience with cybersecurity capabilities including SIEM, EDR, CDM, penetration testing, DevSecOps, IAM, AWS GovCloud, Amazon EKS, Amazon hirify.global, and containerized environments.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or additional certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, TOGAF, CKA, Security+, SAFe Agilist, or PMI-ACP.
• Experience with federal civilian agency programs, Zero Trust, CDM, FISMA, ATO, NIST RMF, and FedRAMP-authorized AWS services.
• Experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms, infrastructure-as-code tools, microservices, API gateways, service meshes, IAM/PAM, Red Team operations, and architecture review boards.
