WC Claims Representative - Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Investigate assigned lost-time workers' compensation claims to determine coverage and compensability.
• Manage claims with disability periods generally up to eight weeks and exposure below $75,000, with occasional higher-severity claims.
• Set reserves, evaluate exposure, analyze investigative information, process payments, and bring claims to resolution.
• Maintain claim documentation, diaries, state filings, and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Handle litigated and non-litigated claims and participate in claim reviews and settlement conferences.
• Collaborate with nurses, medical providers, employers, employees, and vendors on medical and disability management.

Requirements

• Knowledge of workers' compensation statutes, coverage, and case law.
• Working knowledge of medical treatment and terminology related to workers' compensation claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and critical-thinking ability.
• 1–3 years of claims experience preferred.
• Experience handling claims in Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, or Wisconsin preferred.
• A college degree is preferred.
