Senior Bankruptcy Specialist (Mortgage)

What you will do

• Manage complex and sensitive bankruptcy cases, including high-financial-exposure matters and cases involving litigation.
• Apply data-driven approaches to improve case outcomes and minimize losses.
• Develop and refine bankruptcy policies, procedures, workflows, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Work with legal counsel, vendors, leadership, and other stakeholders on negotiations and complex resolutions.
• Analyze compliance and operational risks, support audits, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Mentor Bankruptcy Specialists and participate in cross-functional projects involving legal, operations, finance, and technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Law, or a related field, or relevant professional certifications.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience as a Bankruptcy Specialist or in a related senior default servicing role.
• Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and investor bankruptcy rules, regulations, legal procedures, and judicial and non-judicial processes.
• Experience managing complex, high-value bankruptcy cases and resolving challenging matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical reasoning, strategic problem-solving, attention to detail, and compliance-focused judgment.
• Experience working autonomously, managing multiple priorities, and mentoring colleagues.
