Field Service Engineer 2 (Genomics)

Location: Remote within the Kansas City Metro area or Central Iowa; travel across Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and nearby states required, with up to 70% travel.

Base salary: $74,900–$112,300 annually, plus eligible bonus or commission and potential equity.

What you will do

• Install, upgrade, repair, and maintain genomic sequencing instrument systems in the assigned territory.
• Provide onsite technical assistance, troubleshooting, complaint resolution, and remote connectivity support for customers and internal field teams.
• Coordinate and prioritize service requests to determine effective intervention methods and improve customer satisfaction.
• Manage service-parts inventory and support first-time fixes.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing on system placements, upgrades, leads, and contract renewals.
• Maintain customer relationships and comply with service procedures, administrative rules, and regulated-environment requirements.

Requirements

• Residence in the Kansas City Metro area or Central Iowa is required.
• At least two years of relevant field service experience.
• Experience with optical alignments, robotics, electrical/electronic systems, and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with genomics, sequencing applications, bioinformatics, laboratory best practices, and lab safety.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, customer relationship, teamwork, and independent-work skills.
• BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with biotechnology or biomedical knowledge, or applicable military experience.
