Field Service Engineer (Pathology)

Location: US-CA-Remote Location; ideal candidate resides in the Los Angeles, California metro area. Territory covers Southern California and Arizona, with Nevada, Utah, and the Bay Area as needed. The role requires customer-site work, 80% travel, and overnight travel of approximately 50%, including possible weekends and overtime.

Salary: $46.13–$72.08 per hour, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Install and optimize pathology and genomics hardware, software, networking products, and configurations at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve product performance problems and perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Deliver integrated solutions involving peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.
• Advise customers on preventive maintenance and configurations that affect product performance and availability.
• Manage technical escalations and collaborate with Support, Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams.
• Provide technical training, maintenance seminars, and workshops for field engineers or customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or other university-level degree in a science field such as biochemistry or biotechnology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least 4 years of experience with analytical instrumentation, including repair, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
• Experience with pathology handling equipment, specifically IHC instrumentation; medical diagnostics experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with service standards under ISO 13485 and the ability to solve high-impact product availability problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong customer relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 60 lbs., customer/vendor credentialing, and required background, drug, vaccination, fingerprinting, or identification checks.
