Field Service Engineer II (Medical Diagnostics)

Location: Gainesville, Florida, United States; remote from home within the assigned territory, with up to 90% domestic and occasional international travel, including overnight stays.

Salary: $35.00–$40.00 per hour, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hirify.global diagnostic solutions.
• Manage service execution across the assigned territory, prioritize customer needs, identify root causes, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Optimize instrument performance, customer uptime, and compliance with quality standards.
• Support escalations and serve as a technical resource for customers and less experienced Field Service Engineers.
• Partner with technical support, applications, commercial, and service leadership to identify recurring issues and improve customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with 3+ years of field service experience, or a bachelor’s degree in science with 1+ year of experience, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, laboratory, medical device, or instrumentation systems.
• Ability to work independently across customer sites, manage competing priorities, communicate technical information, and support customer satisfaction and instrument uptime.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to travel up to 90% by air and/or vehicle, including overnight stays.
• Ability to lift, move, slide, raise, or place up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform prolonged standing, walking, sitting, squatting, kneeling, stair climbing, and reaching.

Nice to have

• Experience in histology, pathology, clinical diagnostics, medical devices, biomedical, laboratory, or scientific instrumentation.
• Experience with complex diagnostic instruments, laboratory automation, advanced electromechanical systems, or customer-facing technical environments.
• Experience coaching peers, training customers, supporting technical escalations, or resolving complex service challenges.
